Meat Pie Dough

Procedure

  1. Place flour and salt in the food processor and mix about 5 seconds.
  2. With the food processor running, add the egg through a feed tube and then the warm water. Process until the dough sticks together and forms a ball, about 1 minute.
  3. Turn out dough onto a floured surface and knead with the heel of your hand for 5 turns. The dough should be finely-textured and soft, without sticking to your hands.
  4. Pour oil in the pan and set beside work area.
  5. Cut the dough into 50 pieces and roll with your hands into walnut-sized balls. Place the balls in the oil-filled pan and cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil. Let dough rest for 1 hour.
Tip — You can increase the size of the dough balls if you like, but make them no more than double the size of a walnut.
