Grenadine

Serve it cold by itself or with cake and cookies of your choice.
Procedure
- Put sugar and water in a saucepan and mix with a wooden spoon. Place over high heat and bring to boil for a couple of minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice, reduce heat to medium, and cook covered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add grenadine extract, stir, and cook for several minutes. Turn off heat and set aside. When cool, transfer into a dry glass jar and cover with the lid.
- Pour club soda into the glass, add grenadine syrup and stir. Add ice cubes and serve.
Serve it cold by itself or with cake and cookies of your choice.
Tip — Grenadine syrup stays fresh in your cupboard up to a year.
