Green Bean Stew
Yakhnit Loubieh b’Lahmeh

Serve it hot or warm with Rice with Vermicelli, fresh pita bread, Yogurt and Rice Sauce or plain yogurt.
Procedure
- Place green beans in a pot with ½ cup water and bring to a boil over high heat. Add ½ teaspoons salt, stir and reduce heat to medium. Cook covered for 12 minutes.
- While beans are cooking, melt clarified butter in the skillet over medium-high heat and sauté onion for a couple of minutes. Add meat and cook until brown, then stir in seven spices and cinnamon. Reduce heat to medium and cook covered for 10 minutes.
- Add cooked green beans, pepper and salt to meat mixture, mix well and cook until beans and meat are tender. Transfer to a large platter and serve.
Serve it hot or warm with Rice with Vermicelli, fresh pita bread, Yogurt and Rice Sauce or plain yogurt.
Tip — Green beans can be cooked a couple of days in advance if kept refrigerated in a closed container. The rice can be prepared on another burner while the stew is cooking.
