Easter Biscuits

Kaa’k el Eid

Serve at room temperature as a holiday treat or dessert.

Procedure

  1. Place butter and milk in a pot over medium heat until butter melts, stir to combine and turn off heat; add sugar, stir well and set aside.
  2. Put remaining dry ingredients in the food processor and process to combine. Add milk-butter mixture, and process until dough sticks together and forms a ball, about 1 minute.
  3. Turn dough onto a working surface and knead by hand about 5 turns until it is smooth. Split the dough in half; roll each half by hand into a l/2-inch cylinder.
  4. Cut cylinders into 4-inch pieces and gather the ends of each piece together to form a circle. Place circles on the cookie sheets to bake for 15 minutes or until they turn light brown.

Serve at room temperature as a holiday treat or dessert.

Tip — Dough can be prepared a day in advance if kept in the refrigerator. Bring dough to room temperature before using it.
